Genzyme calls for research proposals for its grant program
Genzyme: - Genzyme Corporation is seeking proposals from nephrology researchers for funding under the 2007 Genzyme Renal Innovations Program (GRIP). Over the past five years GRIP has awarded 46 grants, funding more than $5 million in innovative research projects that advance medical knowledge and practice related to kidney disease. Genzyme will outline the proposal criteria at the American Society of Nephrology meeting in San Diego this week. An independent medical review board of leaders in nephrology will evaluate the proposals and award grants for a period of one to three years. The board has requested proposals in four key areas: inflammation and vitamin D in renal disease, regenerative pathways (cell and molecular) in renal repair, mechanisms of leukocyte migration/activation in renal injury, and mechanisms of intestinal phosphate absorption.
